We have had the jalapeno poppers, cauliflower pizza (toppings change), chicken sandwich and their hummus. ![]() They have appetizers and also a limited entrée menu. I prefer organic or biodynamic wines and they were able to point me to those wines. You can blow a lot of money sampling these, but it was fun! They also sell whole bottles and by the glass (not the same as in the sample pours). These wines seem to get changed out every so often so it will not always be the same ones every time you visit. Prices are marked clearly for the different size pours. We gave them our credit card and they set us up with a wine card that we inserted into the wine machines. are wines (I think there were 20) from different regions of the world that can be sampled in 1, 3 or 5 oz pours from their wine machines. It is in downtown Frankfort near Old Plank Trail. We have only eaten outside and there was a firepit and heaters. We have eaten here 3 times and have ordered carry out. Horrible for a place that is already over priced. Just watch out, apparently they are more concerned about $5.00 than their customers having a good experience. Who cares about the $5, but that is quite ridiculous for a place like the Wine Thief, especially considering their management was involved. Instead of fixing the mistake, the server (and the manager) came back with a similar coupon for only $10 and tried to trick us into thinking we gave them a coupon for only $10 off. However, when the check returned it only gave us $10 off, so I said something to the server. When our bill arrived, we gave the coupon. We had a great night! However, the ending of our experience was not so good. Thief Wines retail shops have more than 750 different distinctive and eclectic wines from around the world at each of our two locations, ranging from 8 to the top end of the market. Being from Frankfort, it is a place I have been to many times ….but what happened to us tonight was odd. ![]() Overall, I really think the Wine Thief is great place. Megan Strom and Juan Gonzalez Mesa Agricola Run by chef Juan Gonzalez and his wife, Megan Strom, who grows produce for Mesa Agricola on the couple’s 1/4-acre plot in Valley Center, it features a farm-to-table menu that changes weekly but is influenced by pre-Hispanic cooking techniques and Gonzalez’s upbringing in Baja, Mexico. First up is Mesa Agricola, which will be posted up at Little Thief from May 24 to July 30. Includes recommended purchases and calendar of events. Replacing it will be two local pop-ups that gained acclaim through their residencies at Vino Carta’s Solana Beach location.
